Air Matters App Reviews

Worthless data

This app consistently underrepresents Beijings 2.5. Instead of being a credible source, the numbers that this posts seems more like a thing of CCP fiction than true data. Ive crosschecked over the past and it consistently reports a 2.5 level 70% lower than it should be. Perhaps the developer was taken to tea and the numbers represent this... App is a waste of time.

The month label is wrong

In Data History, for the "Months" tab, the labels for months are wrong, one month off.

Keep at it!

Good app! Keep improving. This is my go-to AQI app in Shenzhen.

Caved to govt. censorship.

They allowed their US embassy feed in Beijing to be removed because of a government censorship request. They instead rely on the often unreliable and manipulated Chinese government data.

Very good strongly recommended

Thank you

No U.S. Embassy data for Beijing

No U.S. embassy data for Beijing, only Chinese govt data which is consistently WAY too low.

Solid app for lung health!

When youre living in a big city in China, you cant afford to not know what the air is like. This app updates multiple times a day, and even shows air-quality in different regions of the city. It also keeps records of every days air-quality for the past year, so you can form an idea of the dangerous months in your area.

AQI levels are FALSE

This app reads out the same levels that the Chinese Communist Party altered ones do. They dont have an app but use the U.S. Embassy website, or even the best so far, aqicn.org. I used aqicn.org for 3 months in BeiJing to find out the government altered ones usually HALF the levels. This app is a LIE.

False

Air quality is all wrong. Sorry choose another app.

Inaccurate

This app uses censored data that under-report the actual air quality index in Beijing. The values in this app are often half that of the real values. Look up the real values on the U.S. embassy website, then download an app that reports those values. Its a shame--this app has great features, but doesnt tell the truth.

Needs Apple Watch Complication

Please consider adding soon an Apple Watch complication so I can easily and quickly see the pollution level on my watch fave without having to open the watch glance.

Good but not great

Clean interface, well done widget, but unfortunately its not accurate half the time. Not sure if its not updating or what but Im not getting the same numbers as other aqi apps Im using. Shame, good app though.

Serves its purpose

I check this daily. And with small children at home, this is a must! Highly recommended.

Most recent versions became useless

Removing the direct readings from the U.S. embassy and consulates negates the whole value of the app. Only having the last 24h average from local sensors doesnt mean anything. It just constantly show much lower values than the reality (compared to others apps, websites, and my own sensor). Uninstalled. :(

Love it

I check it several times a day and schedule my running based on the pm2.5 reading. Nice job, you guys!

Cant live with it; can live without it

Pity us that need an app to know when we can go outdoors and breathe freely. Thank you Air Quality for providing it. A pity the Beijing government is so gutless they will not allow it to publish the US embassy readings.

This was a great app

Used it every day. Now since last update, cant get it to open. Pls fix!!!

History data always fails, but generally good

Very informative app, good UI design. Only thing bothers me is the history data always fails to load, like 8 of 10 times. Generally a very useful app for air quality info.

Very useful

Simple, easy to use and understand!

Queef!!!!

I took one look at this app and completely queefed my pants. It was the queef to end all queefs. My parents would have been proud, for this was the cheekiest queef around
