Inaccurate status on O3

The current reading of O3 is 105, which, according to the US Standard table, should be unhealthy for sensitive groups, but is displayed as good. Other than that, it’s a very useful app.

They get misinformation for government website airnow.gov which misleads you about air quality

Accuracy and Transparency Matters

This app consistently shows air quality a full 10 points below several other apps with measurements taken in my neighborhood. The app nor the website tell you where the data is coming from, which is a big red flag for me. I’m open to new sources of data, however, must have some basis for comparison in order to judge which source to use. I’m further research this app began in China and has some content giveaways, showing it was not fully edited by US English-speaking editors. Accuracy matters it’s my family’s health.

Unable to add locations 🫨

Unable to add locations Pay for Add free but the developer is not fixing the issue in the past 2 months. How much longer?

Functional but broken

The Apple Watch complication feature does work but you cannot get it to update on the watch. I cannot switch the default setting from air quality index to pollen

Lost My Places

Lost my places after updating to iOS 17.0 and can not save new places unless using “Hey Siri”

This is a scam development team, Lots of people paid for this app, but soon it changed its name and began to charge again

Essential and Amazing

I’ve tried so many AQI (air quality index) apps. With the advent of the Canadian wildfire season, the air in the Midwest has been exceptionally awful. This app uses my location (and doesn’t put a hit on my battery) to keep me informed about the state of the air I breath. I use it multiple times a day. Being able to see WHAT is contributing to the AQI (PM2.5, O3, PM10, etc) is also useful for me. The Apple Watch complication works incredibly well! The level of detail that has gone into this app is remarkable. The home screen widgets work really well too. You can stop looking, you’ve found the right AQI app.

Don’t waste your time

Color scale doesn’t match data

I like this app quite a bit, but it is frustrating that often a submeasure will display as green but when you click on scale, it’s actually moderate. The color scale should match the data and not give an overly favorable view.

Am I losing it?

Wasn’t there a search function for adding new locations in prior versions? The new dropdown menu is idiotic. I have to know what county a city is in?? Or Am I just not seeing it?

A life saver

Clean readible app that not only provides data, but also recommends actions to take based on the data.

Crashes

Crashes upon opening… been three days…

Doesn’t work on Apple Watch without an iPhone nearby.

App on the Apple Watch has a pollen complication that doesn’t work if you walk away from the iPhone it’s paired to, even if you have a cellular Apple Watch. Why not? Can you fix this? I suffer chronically from allergies triggered by pollen from grass, flowers and trees and this app is no good to me if it can’t function properly.

Saved locations won’t stay

Updated to ios16.4 and now my saved locations disappear after closing. When I open app, I get several global cities I have no interest in. I add my desired locations again but they disappear when app is reopened.

Phenomenal air quality app

I have lived in China and Taiwan for 6 years and tried multiple air quality apps. This one is by far the best for two big reasons: data sources and data history. When I was in China and didn't know what air quality data to trust, I found that this one offered the most choices of data sources and was the most consistent with my personal experience of the air and my handheld air quality monitor. Also, it lets you visualize air quality over the last few days to see how bad (or good it's been) and even check air quality in different places to see which city you might want to move to (haha). Irreplaceable. Thank you so much to the creators of this app! (You could charge a few more dollars to remove ads and I would pay.)

Convenient for checking air quality

Faster than going to the Weather app to check air quality.

Too much delay

I had this app at 5 stars. Most concise UI, excellent customer service, but, the reports are 3 hours behind. So I sit hear with the app telling me it’s 71 outside, while the actual reading is 110. Such a big delay in the data updating renders the app basically useless. :(

Completely inaccurate

There is visible smoke in the air actually reducing visibility, my wife is coughing and choking from an asthma attack but this app insists the air quality is good. The other weather apps and even the news is saying there is an air quality warning but I guess it’s all in the imagination, unless this app is crap.

My Haiku Review

Open on Ipad Immediately crashes Cannot use this app

Not anywhere near us

30 miles away from us !! Enough said.

Way off

This app is not accurate in the least! It’s giving me a reading of 104 right now. And my Davis AirLink is reading 10.3. While my other app “Air Quality” is reading 15.

连接不上我的飞利浦空气净化器,也连接不上我的Laser Egg

Cleaning up our act now, Mother Earth will thank us.

Great view of the condition of the world air, even though it is rather depressing, we better get it together and work with each other. I am recommending the website to all my friend’s.

Unstable

Good info, but crashes too much.

This app is a must have

Simple and useful for air quality health

Would be five stars except…

For some unfathomable reason Air Matters mistakes Burbank, Ca for San Jose,,CA. If you fix this I would give Air Matters five stars, but having an unremovable and undesired city at the top of my list is unacceptable.

I have been using the app for 2 years

Every couple of month appears bug on the application that can’t make you connect the air purifier to the application and even when I remove device and re-paird it again it’s the same problem, conclusion with the updates they bugged the pairing, right now there’s problem that you can’t pair your device with wifi please developer solve it as soon as possible

Suggestion for Watch: make stats up top

This app is great for knowing how bad the air is. One suggestion I have for the Apple Watch version of the app, is to make the statistics on pollen, O3, PM2.5, NO2, CO, etc show up at the top of the watch’s screen. This is because while pollen may make me feel miserable, the man-made pollutants are actually dangerous to my health, so I’d like to see those up top.

自动切换为中国空气质量标准bug

每次一更新,都会从自选的标准自动切换回中国标准,敢情空气质量标准还要讲究正确?每次发现都有被欺骗感......

good

very good

Something changed ?

Something changed on the app within the last six weeks or so. Used to be able to see readings for my small town and many others around me. AQI’s used to be in small squares and literally covered my state (and others) with readings. Now the AQI readings are in circles, and there are only a few in my state, and they are in the same locations as US government / EPA sensors and they’re giving the same numbers as the EPA sensors. Did AirMatters switch to using government sensor data (???), which I’ve found to be much less accurate.

I was forced to use and pay for this dysfunctional crap-app

When I bought my philips air scrubber, little did I know that this app was the only chance to interact with the overpriced and underperforming appliance. After setting it up, the philips device joins my network and can be used with third party open source COAP commandline tools but not with this sorry excuse of an app. To add insult to injury I am forced to pay on top of the price of the already overpriced philips cleaner to remove ads. Seriously... this is 2021... you still do ad stuff and sell broken iot devices? Not amused... (my home network is using aruba access points, if you’re interested to fix this)

This app really is excellent

I don't write app reviews. This won't be a particularly *detailed* app review either - no feature list / analysis or anything. I'm really tired and I'm having a bad pollen day, but I was using this app to plan my schedule for tomorrow, and thought to myself "Man, these people actually deserve 99 cents. I wish I could tip them. This is meaningfully improving my life a little bit. (nothing life-changing ofc, but I mean, it's a tool and it helps)." 5/5 stars. [Insert glowing technical review here]

Doesn’t show your city in the list

Lahore was the 2nd worst polluted city and it doesn’t show in the list at all. Also can’t add other cities on your main page.

数据太糟糕

我所在城市西边七八个区县数值竟然全是一样的……误导人嘛

App crashes!

App crashes when going into the city detail pages. Please fix!

Great for fire season

This app is great especially with all the wildfires. I love the map so I know where I can go hiking or travel to.

Readings appear erroneous

Henry County, TN readings of 179 for weeks cannot be possible. Who is tracking this ??? Very suspect.

Good but forecasts are terrible and crashes

Forecast is always good but my air quality is not that. App has regular crashes when clicking on certain items. Developers need to test their app more.

Fail to log 8 hrs of data

For some reason it does not show the bar graphs as before. When I add new locations to my list, none include bar graphs. When I deleted a current location and brought it back, no bar graph. I assume they want money to see them. $$$

What is going on -no data??

I’ve been using this app for over a year and it’s always been really good but lately there’s no data for any of the cities around me. In fact there’s not much data for the entire south east of the United States. Not much use if I can’t see data.

Where is the explanation of red heat zones?

I cannot find anywhere what the red heat zones indicate where AQIs are not high due to fires. Does anyone know? I’ve asked the App, but no response yet. Also- their data differs from EPA and other noted apps. How can someone know which one to trust as accurate???
